I manage the Birth to Five Helpline-Fussy Baby Program at Southwest Human Development.
Why will you be participating in the Second Annual 4th Trimester Conference?
It’s a wonderful opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect, attend some sessions with relevant content; take time to explore some of the issues and topics that are important to them; learn something new, leave with some new insight, feel more confident as a parent, and enjoy parenting!
If our audience could take away one thing away from you, what would it be?
There is no such thing as a baby. There is a baby and his/her parent, the extended family, and community. Exploring what parenting is for each one of us and what we bring to our parenting is a gift to our children and to ourselves
If you would like to share, what was your 4th Trimester like? What do you wish someone had shared with you?
It was very different with each one of my kids. Very different experiences, very different babies and I was at a different place each time, as a woman and as a mother.

Listening, talking, taking the time to hear each individual question or concern that parents have is something that I value very deeply. Every parent needs to have and find the support they need to feel competent and confident as a parent. I am lucky to have the opportunity to help.
