Fanny Zylstra

Fanny Zylstra is the Director of Operations at the Translational Genomics Institute, where some of the world’s leading scientists turn innovative genetic research ideas into medical breakthroughs, benefiting patients and their families. With nearly 20 years of experience in the life sciences research industry, Fanny has held various leadership positions in Operations. Throughout her career, she has witnessed both the devastating effects of cancer and other complex diseases, as well as the positive impact of the bioscience industry on patient care. These experiences have fueled her unwavering support and commitment to her industry and the sciences.
 
Outside of work, Fanny is passionate about supporting community organizations. After learning about 4th Trimester Arizona’s mission and observing its positive impact on the population it serves, Fanny was inspired to get involved. She believes that parenthood is the greatest gift and the most important responsibility one can have. Fanny feels that 4th Trimester Arizona’s mission to change the culture of parenting by empowering and supporting families during their transition to parenthood is both noble and crucial for strengthening our communities.
 
Fanny graduated from Hofstra University and is a proud wife to her husband, Steve, and mother to their three children, Macy, Zane, and Alex. In addition to spending time with their adult children, Fanny and Steve enjoy traveling, riding motorcycles, hiking, gardening, and socializing with friends.
